Methodology
Where prices come from
Every price is read from the provider's own website, in US dollars, and stored with the page URL and the date it was checked. If a provider does not show a USD price, we leave the plan out rather than convert it. We never estimate a price: no price, no row.
How often
We aim to recheck every plan at least every 14 days, and our publishing script refuses prices checked more than 14 days earlier. Every row shows the date its price was checked. The "Prices checked" date at the top of a page is the latest check among the plans on that page, not the date the page was rebuilt.
How trip totals are calculated
- The trip is split evenly between the two countries (for odd numbers of days, the first country gets the extra day).
- Data needs: Light 0.3 GB/day (maps, messaging, email); Standard 0.8 GB/day (plus social media and a few video calls); Heavy 1.8 GB/day (plus streaming or a laptop on hotspot).
- "One plan": the cheapest plan that covers both countries with enough data and days for the whole trip. An unlimited plan counts as enough data only if its fair-use threshold (for example, "1 Mbps after 3 GB per day") is at or above the average daily need; the threshold is shown in the plan notes. If a provider says a daily cap applies but does not state it, the plan stays in the tables but is not used in trip totals.
- "Two plans": the cheapest plan for each country's days and data, added together.
- Plans whose validity starts at purchase are marked, because the clock runs before you land.
Order of plans
Plans are sorted by price for the standard trip, then by price per GB. No provider pays to be listed or ranked.
What we do not test
We do not measure network speed, coverage on the ground or customer support. Where we state a local fact (roaming rules, networks), we link its source.

All plans are available as CSV and JSON under CC BY 4.0. Please link the route page when you cite a price.
